Our History

For more than 75 years, the funeral home has stood as a visible presence in Seaforth, at 87 Goderich Street West.  Ownership has passed from S.T. Holmes, to Ab Whitney, and to Ross and Joyce Ribey.  In 2011 the funeral home was sold to the current owners, John and Sandy McGlynn.

Over the years many improvements have been made to the functional and physical appearance of the building.  Under the ownership of Ross and Joyce Ribey, major renovations in 1976 and 1978 enlarged and enhanced the building's interior.  In 1980 the parking lot was expanded improving traffic flow to and from the funeral home.  In 1983 a garage and storage area was built, accommodating a new selection room.  Then in 1986 a wheelchair accessible enclosed foyer/entranceway was constructed.

Today, under the ownership of John and Sandy McGlynn, the funeral home is tastefully decorated and can accommodate 140 people for a funeral service.  It serves as a welcoming, peaceful place where the realities of death are met with understanding and dignity.

Respecting the needs of everyone, the funeral home remains wheelchair accessible.  John and Sandy McGlynn value the long standing history the funeral home holds in the Seaforth community.  By merging the traditions of the past with the needs of today, McGlynn Family Funeral Home endeavors to serve the community for years to come.
