When I think of my childhood and minor hockey, the first thing that comes to mind is your mom and dad ( and scott telling karen to get out of the room. I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. He truly was a kind, generous man with a one of a kind smile. I will always remember the kind deed your dad did for my dad after my mom passed away. My dad was very particular about his lawn and flower beds and being my mom passed away in the fall there was a lot to be done. One Saturday morning(just before her funeral) your dad arrived with his truck and tools in hand, quietly took care of the yard work got back in his truck and left, not even taking a coffee that I had offered. That gesture will be something I will forever be grateful for.
