I was working for the Friends of Hullett when Dave joined the Board of Directors. At first I was leery of having a "Cop" around all the time, but as I got to know Dave, he turned out to be the Hullet's biggest asset. I have found memories of Dave and Maggies daily visits to the FoH office. Sometimes e came just to talk and gossip, but mostly to find out what I needed to complete a certain task. On countless occasions I expressed issues to Dave regarding the lack of equipment or supplies, next thing I knew a few days later Dave would show up with the item I needed. I never really asked questions regarding how he procured the these items, I just figured after 32 years of policing he must have had dirt on just about everyone in Huron County. Ha Ha Ha. Dave was a man that truly cared. Not just about nature and hunting. He genuinely cared about people. One night a colleague and I were out on the town and decided to stop by Daves for a night cap. Dave graciously invited us in, poured us a drink, regaled us with some hilairous stories and then offered to drive us home. He was a friend that I count on, willing to help out where ever he could.
